Got another short one for y’all today, folks.
ABDUCTED Cover Reveal
Earlier this week, the fine folks at Dark Matter Ink debuted the cover for my forthcoming debut sci-fi/horror novel ABDUCTED. Here’s the video:
Cover design is by Dark Matter Ink publisher Rob Carroll and I really think he knocked it out of the park, capturing the dual bands of small-town and intergalactic intrigue that are woven throughout the book.
Speaking of the book, here’s a little more about what it’s all about:
The X-Files meets Gone Girl, in which a man claiming to be a missing child from nineteen years ago returns to the small town from where he famously vanished, but the town's retired police sergeant who failed to solve the boy's missing persons case two decades prior doesn't buy the man's claim and suspects that something much more sinister is at work.
In addition to X-Files and Gone Girl, the book also shares DNA with Fargo, The Manchurian Candidate, the comic work of Moebius, and the final absolutely bonkers bits of Prometheus.
If that sounds like the kind of book cocktail you’d like to consume, then I do hope you’ll check it out.
You can preorder direct from Dark Matter Ink today.
ABDUCTED is out on August 26, 2025.
One More Thing
And, finally, a reminder that I have signed books for sale on my Ko-Fi shop. For the month of April, I am waiving shipping costs to US purchasers. These are the absolute lowest prices that these books have ever been sold for.
Currently I have all of my individual publications up on the shop minus my Haunting Lessons chapbook and Night of the Witch-Hunter—though I hope to get stock of both in soon!
Listings are currently U.S.-only. But for international readers, if you DM or email me (patrick.barb@gmail.com), then I’m happy to figure out what the overall cost (shipping included) would be for your orders.
That’s all for now. Have a wonderful weekend and read something spooky!
Preordered! Can't wait to read this!
